A80V Desktop HI-FI Speaker
Introduced in 2020, the AIRPULSE A80 set a benchmark for compact near-field Hi-Fi speakers, earning recognition from audio enthusiasts for exceptional performance from such a compact cabinet.
Since then, we have listened closely to feedback from audiophiles and AIRPULSE users worldwide. Guided by our product lifecycle management process and our commitment to lasting value, we have refined the A80’s acoustic and electronic architecture to create its successor: the AIRPULSE A80V.
Horn Loaded Ribbon Tweeter
The A80V features AIRPULSE’s signature horn-loaded ribbon tweeter, engineered to extend smoothly to 40 kHz. Unlike a conventional dome tweeter, the lightweight aluminium ribbon functions as both the diaphragm and the voice coil. This low-mass design responds rapidly to the input signal, delivering fast transient response, high sensitivity, low phase distortion, and finely resolved high-frequency detail.
4.5” Aluminium Cone Ferrit Magnet
The A80V introduces a newly developed 4.5-inch mid-woofer built around a rigid cast-aluminium chassis. Its hardened aluminium-alloy diaphragm combines low mass with high structural strength, while a narrow-pitch, sinusoidally corrugated spider supports stable, linear movement. A 30 mm voice coil and large ferrite magnet provide strong, controlled drive across the midrange and low frequencies. The complete driver system has been optimized using the KLIPPEL measurement platform to minimize cone breakup and maintain accurate performance at higher playback levels.
Fully Digital Amplifier
Two Texas Instruments TAS5754M closed-loop, digital-input Class-D amplifier ICs independently power the A80V’s ribbon tweeters and mid-woofers. Supporting digital signals with sampling rates up to 192 kHz, the TAS5754M operates at a 768 kHz PWM carrier frequency. This high switching frequency helps reduce high-frequency distortion and suppress in-band noise, making the amplifier particularly well suited to the A80V’s highly sensitive ribbon tweeter.
