Longevity of Your Airpulse Active Speakers While Protecting Young Ears

Investing in a set of Airpulse active speakers guarantees an unmatched listening experience, bringing crisp, clear sound into your living space. To maintain their superb performance and safeguard the delicate hearing of the younger ones in your home, here are some essentials to follow:

Strategic Placement: Keep your speakers in a stable location, away from exposure to direct sunlight, temperature extremes, and moisture, to prevent damage. Position them out of reach of small children to avoid any accidental harm to both the speaker and the little ones.

Regular Dusting: Accumulated dust can affect performance. Use a soft, dry cloth for routine cleaning, and a damp cloth with mild soap for more persistent dirt, followed by a thorough dry wipe. This keeps the speakers in pristine condition and prevents small particles from becoming a curious object for children.

Cable Organization: Organize cables neatly and ensure they're not stretched, tangled, or in walkways to prevent tripping hazards or damage to the connections. This step is crucial in a household with children to avoid accidents or playful tampering that could harm the speaker system or the child.

Volume Control: Airpulse speakers can deliver powerful sound, but consistently high volumes may strain the system and potentially harm young ears. To enjoy your speakers for a long time and protect your family’s hearing, keep the volume at a moderate level, especially when children are present. Discuss with children the importance of listening at safe volumes.

Driver Safety: The drivers are essential for your speakers' sound quality. And since Airpulse speakers don't come with grilles, placement away from little hands can help to avoid curious fingers from poking and potentially damaging them.

Educate and Supervise:  Teach children about the importance of respecting audio equipment, not just for the longevity of the speakers, but also for their personal wellbeing, particularly their hearing. Supervise their interaction with the audio system until you’re confident in their understanding and self-control.

By integrating these practices, you not only ensure that your Airpulse active speakers remain in top condition but also educate the next generation of hifi listeners like our parents and grandparents did with us!

Safe Listening Recommendation For Children:

The optimum level of decibels (dB) for children, to ensure safe listening and protect their hearing,
is generally considered to be 85 decibels or lower. The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends
that exposure to noises should not exceed 85 dB for more than 8 hours at a time to prevent hearing damage.
However, it's important to note that the duration of exposure also plays a crucial role; the safe listening
time decreases as the volume increases.
For instance, exposure to sound levels at 85 dB should be limited to a maximum of 8 hours, while at 100 dB,
the exposure should be limited to no more than 15 minutes.
Children's ears are more sensitive to damage from loud noises, so it's crucial to monitor and manage the volume
of their audio environments—whether that's through headphones, speakers, or ambient noise—to safeguard their hearing.
For activities involving headphones or earbuds, adopting the 60/60 rule—listening at no more than 60% of the maximum
volume for no more than 60 minutes at a time—can further help protect young ears. Always ensure that any audio equipment
used by children comes with volume-limiting features to prevent accidental exposure to harmful sound levels.
